Funeral Plans

Planning a funeral for a loved one can be an emotionally and financially challenging experience, especially if their wishes were never discussed before their passing.

A funeral plan lets you decide on all the main details now, so there’s no uncertainty and fewer stressful decisions for your family later on. It’s a simple, thoughtful way to plan ahead.

Planning ahead

If you are thinking of planning your funeral, talk to us. Our friendly team will help you with every detail to ensure peace of mind for you and your family.

What is a funeral plan?

A funeral plan is an easy way to arrange the funeral you want in advance. A plan allows you to specify your wishes and pay for the funeral director’s services included in your plan. As our customers often tell us, that can bring peace of mind to you and your family. A plan from Golden Charter also includes an allowance towards third party costs. These are essential, non-funeral director services such as the cremation or burial fees, plus the minister or officiant’s fee to perform the service.

Our partnership with Golden Charter

At I Did It My Way Funeral Directors, we work in partnership with Golden Charter to provide you with a simple way to plan ahead. As one of the UK’s largest funeral plan providers, 1 Golden Charter has helped over 900,000 people make funeral provisions 2 so we’re completely confident in offering their plans to you.

Everyone has different needs when it comes to funeral planning, so we make sure the plans we offer are as flexible as possible. When you get in touch, we’ll be happy to discuss your funeral requirements and tailor a plan to suit you. Rest assured a plan from Golden Charter is available to all UK residents, regardless of age or state of health.

What will the plan cover?

Funeral plans cover the services provided by us, the funeral director. This can include the cost of a casket, caring for the deceased until the funeral, transportation of the deceased into our care, and a hearse. If you want to include other items, we can do this with one of our bespoke plans.

Services and additional items such as flowers, providing for a wake, or a paper notification, which aren’t provided by us, are known as third party costs. However, with the Golden Charter funeral plans we offer, you can choose to include an allowance towards these costs. The value of the allowance may grow over time. There would only be more to pay if the third party costs exceed the value of the allowance in your plan at the time of the funeral. We can provide full details when you get in touch.

Clarity is important. We understand this is one of the biggest choices of your life, and we will explain every detail so that you can make an informed decision. Talk to us. We will help you tailor your funeral plan so that you get the send-off you want.

What does a funeral plan cost?

With an Independent Way funeral plan from Golden Charter, you can be as extravagant or as simple as you choose, with cremation or burial options available. Alongside the bespoke plans, we offer a selection of standard packages.

Cannot fault the service we received. Michael and the team are so friendly and compassionate. They go the extra mile for the grieving family. Cannot rate them highly enough. They are a small family, independent business, which feels more sincere than the bigger ones around. Thank you for your sensitivity and help at a sad time.
